Jap Performance - Lee Broadhurst

True Lee, Mad Lee Deep Lee

This was the title to the article in Jap Performance. Poetic Licence maybe but how does the tuning team that see Lee on a regular basis feel about that?

True Lee: Yes, what you see is what you get; Lee is an upfront, down to earth guy and is true to what he believes in and loves – motor sport.

Mad Lee: Hmmm - mad in what way? Mad about his car and doing better – then yes!

Deep Lee: Deeply passionate about his car and motor sport after being bitten by the Timeattack bug after a conversation with a Cosworth driver who he closely lapped In 2006.

Lee is a privateer and at the end of the 2008 series only two Evo’s had done better in pro class. No mean feat for this privateer! 2008 saw a totally transformed car with carbon fibre and personally (me in the office) can’t believe the transformation from the Silver caterpillar car that came in to the workshop in 2007 to the black and gold butterfly that was on the track in 2008. That was just the externals, what Nick @ NR had done inside for those that know about these things denied belief. The same goes for many spectators and customers to NR seeing the original photo of this car.
Building the highest spec engine he had ever done so far and wiring a new loom along with the uprated 4 pot and 6 pot Ap racing brakes. The rest is listed in detail in the Jap Performance magazines.

Reading our Timeattack news item you will read all the facts and figures about this awesome Evo. However keep reading as this car has been back for more. Maybe not Timeattack 2009 but lee’s ideas combined with Nicks great technical ability will make a ‘True Lee’ NR inspiried Evo for the next series.
