2008 PSDS Drag Series Winner Richard Batty

Never judge a book by its cover

Seeing Richard (Batman) Batty’s car beside Chris Impey’s RX-7, I know who I would have put my money on. Being a little shallow here, it just looks impressive with that awesome paintwork, parachute and body kit. As the title - looks are not the bee all and it’s what is underneath that matters. Lift the bonnet of Richard’s standard looking in comparison FTO and find a fantastically tuned engine by Nick @ NR with months of blood, sweat and maybe not tears but total dedication by tuner and driver. That, thankfully for both paid off in the 2008 Pro Street Drag Series at the Shakespeare County Raceway.

Richard came 1st in Pro Class and 1st overall. Impressive results speak volumes for this fantastic team.

Even though Chris Impey set a best personal best at 9.318 he suffered a transmission blaze and left debris all over the raceway.

However ‘Batman’ had already closed out the Po Street Drag Series title for 2008. Being bathed in champagne at the end – what a waste!!

‘Batman’ stole the show all the technical details are in the Japanese Performance magazine. Batman has had an impressive year with his FTO and NR is proud to be the technicians behind supporting the UK’s fastest FTO.

So where will ‘Batman’ and Robin – (sorry Nick @ NR) go from here.
Well who knows! ………..Watch this space.
